Job Description Installs new software releases and system upgrades. Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains products/equipment including cameras, workstations, servers, radars, microwaves, switches, and routers. Works under limited supervision. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others. Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary. Travel may be required. • Operation and Maintenance support includes patch management, information assurance/security, anti-virus, and data backup solutions.
• Provide system administration and engineering support for Windows Server 2008/2012, and transistion to 2016. Provide system administration and engineering support for Windows 10.
• Provide engineering support for initiatives including, but not limited to, ACAS, SQL, VMware, Host Based Security System (HBSS), and ISCSI Storage system.
• Attend to VMware VCenter server and Vsphere configurations, and hosted virtual server requirements.
• Address requirements for maintaining system security as defined by the Certification and Accreditation documentation.
• Work independently as well as in a support environment to meet deadlines while simultaneously performing multiple tasks.
Required Skills Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a project lead or manager. Travel may be required. Position requires the ability to access confidential/classified areas. Must have a Secret Clearance. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and teach or assist others to resolve Systems related issues. • Must have a demonstrated ability to produce system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reports. • Requires strong under standing of current Microsoft supported Windows operating systems. • Must be familiar with Department of Defense networking and security accreditation requirements. • Knowledge of Retina and Host Based Security System (HBSS) is desirable. Vulnerability Management System (VMS). • DoD Directive 8570.1 Information Assurance Workforce Technical Level II or III certifications required (Sec +, MCSA, MCSE, CISSP). • Must be familiar with system architecture and possess the ability to prepare a complete architecture from concept of operation to include SPAWAR requirements, customer requirements, and user base. • Must be willing to become tower climber certfied , if not already trained in thjis area. • Must be able to safely lift upto 50 lbs. (Battery trays for UPS systems, etc...). • Must have advanced hardware troubleshooting skills for computer based hardware, camera systems, radar systems. Microwave systems would be a plus. • Must be willing to become First Aid & CPR certified, if not already. • Must be willing to rebuild computer systems to the hard drive OS level when necessary. DepartmentSerco’s C5ISR business unit supports all branches of the U.S. military as they look to extend the life of critical legacy weapons systems and sensors, while seamlessly integrating these systems with the latest C5I environments. We support major transformation initiatives to deliver total situational awareness from the command center to the warfighter on the front line. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems.
