Job Description The Director, Business Development, Fleet Management & Maintenance will focus on identifying, qualifying, and pursuing medium, and large private fleet companies, utility companies and local government opportunities for the Transportation & Infrastructure Business Unit (BU). This position is intended to market Fleet Management yet identify other company offerings within the City and County Government to include Intelligent Transportation Systems, parking enforcement, bike share operations, and building inventory management. The primary responsibility is to identify and develop opportunities for business expansion while developing marketing strategies and long-range business plans. He/she could work either from a Serco location (if in proximity) or from a home office (no relocation required).

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the individual selected for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Develops and maintains strong business relationships with private fleet owners, utility companies and government leaders and key decision makers.
• Identifies and qualifies business opportunities and positions the Transportation and Infrastructure BU for bidding, including the following:
o Develops effective win strategies which include identifying and qualifying new opportunities in the $5M to $100M range.
o Maintains a pipeline of qualified opportunities sufficient to meet BU financial objectives.
o Develops teaming relationships and conducts competitive analysis.
o Works with capture and proposal teams to develop winning proposals.
o Works closely with the leadership and staff of the Transportation and Infrastructure Business Unit to meet their new business and re-compete needs.
o Will act as a liaison with utility companies and offices focusing on fleet contracts primarily.

Required Skills • 10+ years of successful experience in Business Development, selling services and solutions to Utility Companies and/or City Governments with a proven track record in the Fleet -Sector. • Experience in developing and successfully executing acquisition strategies for medium, and large contracts ($5 to $100M). Experience pursuing multiple, simultaneous deals. • Experience developing strategic business, account, and market plans. • Strategy creation and execution skills that lead to the wining of new opportunities within the fleet sectors and the ability to leverage these contacts and relationships into qualified business opportunities. • History of effectively partnering and building results-oriented synergy – through excellent communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills – with technical leaders, company business executives, customers, teammates, subcontractors, and other key internal and external contacts. • Comfortable cold-calling new customers. • Ability to develop key business relationships in domestic government markets. • Strong rolodex of specific contacts within Utility Companies or City Governments as a priority. • Experience liaising with city government agencies and offices focusing on fleet management contracts primarily is desirable. • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
