Job Description Serco provides comprehensive support for mission-critical communications and IT systems used by military, intelligence and civilian government clients. We are fully capable of providing C5ISR installation services onboard all classes of US Navy ships (Carriers, Surface Ships and Submarines) as well as at shore facilities. Our services also support SPAWAR, NAVSEA, NAVAIR, and NAVFAC throughout the entire C5ISR systems lifecycle – from design and development, through system accreditation, installation and sustainment, to technical refresh.

The Shipboard Electronic Technician III works on a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. The Electronic Technician III (ETIII) performs inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. This position incorporates installation experience including the moving and un-crating of equipment, the installation of electronic equipment, ducts, cableways, cables, high density cable connectors, assembling cable harnesses, soldering with low voltage soldering devices, coaxial connectors, waveguide connectors, fiber connectors, and assembling small mechanical parts per fabrication/assembly drawings. The ETIII reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications
Work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations requiring the ability to work in areas with drafts, noise, and temperature variation. Must be able to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position. Attention to safety critical.
Required Skills REQUIREMENTS -Position requires High School Diploma or equivalent. 5 - 7 years of AIT Installation experience on US Naval Surface or Submarine Vessels highly desirable. -Applicants must have DoD Secret clearance or higher. -Applicant may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty, or military training may apply. -Applicants must have a general understanding of NAVSEA Manual S0400-AD-URM-010/TUM Rev 06 (Tag Out Users) and proficient in NAVSEA WAF (Work Authorization Forms) procedures. -Applicants must have Certification in “Multi-pin” Connectors IAW MIL-STD-20035A(SA), MIL-STD-2042B Fiber Optic, and proficiency in NAVSEA Standards Items to include 009-22 & 009-73. -Applicant must be willing to work second or thirds shift as needed. -Applicants also must be willing to work more than 40 hours work weeks. -Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen. -This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens. -Travel may be required. Applicant must be willing to travel to various work sites such as Virginia Beach VA, San Diego CA, Kings Bay GA, Everett WA, Pearl Harbor HI, Mayport FL, and Yokosuka Japan. -KITCO certification highly desirable. -Military Veterans and Spouses encouraged to apply. We support major transformation initiatives to deliver total situational awareness from the command center to the warfighter on the front line. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems.
