Job Description The Deputy Project Manager supports the Project/Site Manager in the daily supervision and oversight of the operational management of all activities and functions of the PBGC-FOSS contract. Tasks include development, coordination, implementation, documentation and evaluation of processes, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, workflows and work standards. Responsibilities also include the day-to-day personnel oversight and the coaching, mentoring, monitoring and development of each team member so they are capable, engaged contributors to the success of their group, team, department, and the contract. The role supports optimization of workflow efficiencies, process, resource, change management, and other program and project areas. The successful candidate will troubleshoot issues, problems or areas requiring enhancement within the PBGC FOSS scope of deliverables, provide analysis and recommend solutions to meet contractual requirements, and may support the transition of new workflows and resources into the designated field office. The candidate will serve as Deputy to the assigned Project Manager, with responsibility to ensure consistency of communication to the customer, staff and other stakeholders, standardization of workflows, reports, procedures, structure, memoranda, proposals and support of day to day operational tasks and issues requiring customer or other stakeholder intervention. Coordination with the Project Management Office (PMO), operational support and facilitation and participation in customer and other stakeholder meetings is required on a regular basis.
Required Skills Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in project management, running process and projects in an operational environment, or a related area. Four (4) years or more of direct experience may be substituted for a degree. • Functions, terminology and practices related to PMP duties assigned • Computer applications related to the work, including word processing and basic spreadsheet applications
