Job Description AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR TECHNICIAN - NO WEEKENDS

Major Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Refinishes vehicles and equipment using a variety of painting systems, enamels (acrylic and alkalyd); acrylic lacquer; urethane single stage and base coat/clear coat systems.

Refinishes using proper procedures involving spot/partial panel and full panel repair as well as complete repainting of vehicles and equipment.
Uses and maintains paint spraying equipment such as siphon feed, pressure pot and High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) paint guns.

This position also repairs damaged vehicle body parts. Inspects body and frame damage to determine feasibility and best methods of repair. Straightens deformed panels using hand and power tools. Welds cracks and seams; bumps and dings out creases and dents; shrinks or stretches damaged metal. Removes minor dents using pull-rods and fills hole with solder. Applies body filler to build up depressed areas. Repairs locks, latches, remote controls, window regulators, window channels, and wooden body parts. Removes, installs, adjusts and aligns body components, such as fenders, doors, door panels, hoods, deck lids, grills, bumpers, and roof and quarter panels. Aligns body and frame using trammels, measuring tape, plumb bobs, hydraulic jacks and associated equipment’s. Fabricates and installs special body parts, signs and equipment. Welds and repairs metal and alloys by oxyacetylene, Heliarc, electric arc and MIG welding process. Plans metal repair and fabrication.
Required Skills Requires a High School diploma and 1-2 years experience (or more) preferred. Also: I-CAR training required ASE certification Must own tools Must hold valid driver's license Must be willing to submit to a background check

DepartmentThe Transportation & Infrastructure business unit has four main business streams - surface transportation, aviation, fleet maintenance and infrastructure services, with over 1000 personnel providing these services in the federal, state and local markets. Our transportation surface and infrastructure business includes traffic control centers, intelligent system specification, deployment and maintenance, traveler information systems, back office capabilities, program management, congestion management and general operations. Our business with state and local governments include parking management systems and technicality upgrades and parking enforcement. In addition we provide fleet maintenance services to a number of public utilities and municipal authorities.
