Shipyard Installation Lead - Chesapeake, VA

Job Description The Shipyard Installation Lead supervises a team of Welders, Pipefitters, and Structural Fabricators who are responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing structures and major components on US Naval Ships and Submarines. Responsible for scheduling, tracking progress and overseeing the overseeing the installation of products such as foundations, piping systems, ventilation ducting, and various other structural assemblies. The Installation Lead ensures adherence to contract specifications and established policies and procedures. This position is familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Required Skills -Position requires vocational training and 5-7 years of experience in the field or a related area. 10-15 years preferred. -Applicants must be familiar with T9074-AD-GIB-010/1688, MIL-STD-1689, MIL-STD-22 and NAVSEA STANDARD ITEMS FY-18 for the requirements of welding, fabrication, and inspection onboard US NAVAL vessels. Has the ability to read and interpret structural drawings. -Applicants must be able to apply critical thought processes in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to provide accurate progress reporting as required by each project. -Applicants must successfully complete background investigation and pre-employment drug screening -This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens Military Veterans and Spouses encouraged to apply!
