Project/Program Manager - Virginia Beach, VA

Chesapeake, VA, US
Job Description - Responsible for managing project(s) and related task orders for customer (s) with revenue ranging from $3 - $15M.

- Conducts cost management through continual cost control and review.

- Has business development and budgetary responsibilities.

- Provides expertise to customers to ensure resolution of issues. Requires advanced knowledge and understanding of work project(s) and functions.

- Typically manages a team of 20 or more employees.

- Typically reports to a Program Manager or Director.

- Serve as the customer advocate for assigned projects, taking ownership of assigned customer requirements.

- Develop project plans (requirements definition, scope, schedules, WBS, risk management, etc.).

- Support the development of cost estimates and quotes, and prepares budgets.

- Monitor and control project work (scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, etc.) executes, staffs, budgets, and closes projects.

- Manage project staff, assigns responsibilities, manages resources, and ensures stakeholder needs are met.

- Prepare and submit performance reports and forecasts, and resource projections to senior managers.

- Support the preparation of related proposals, plans, specifications, and reports.

- Develop resolutions to project issues and elevates them when required.

- Ensure that estimates of material, equipment, and production items are accurate.

- Establish and maintain contact with subcontractors.

- Assist senior management with the short-range and long-range planning.

- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.
Required Skills - Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years - Project Management of complex projects requiring task effort monitoring through cost, schedule, and deliverables status determination and skilled in risk mitigation practices. - PMP or formal project management training completion is preferred. - Must be self-motivated. - Experience with managing a multi-disciplined engineering and technical team required. - Strong background in Navy Ship Repair and Modernization preferred. - Proficient in Microsoft suite, especially Excel. Experience with Microsoft Project preferred. - Strong background in CPFF, FFP and T&M-type contracts preferred. - Excellent communication and writing skills. - Excellent organizational skills. - Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

DepartmentSerco’s C5ISR business unit supports all branches of the U.S. military as they look to extend the life of critical legacy weapons systems and sensors, while seamlessly integrating these systems with the latest C5I environments. We support major transformation initiatives to deliver total situational awareness from the command center to the warfighter on the front line. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems.
