Job Description Applicant performs a variety of tasks including:
--Fabrication and assembly of various electromechanical and electronic assemblies
--Incorporating installation experience, including the moving and un-crating of equipment, the installation of electronic equipment, ducts, cableways, cables, high density cable connectors, assembling cable harnesses, soldering with low voltage soldering devices, coaxial connectors, and assembling small mechanical parts per fabrication/assembly drawings
--Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Applicants certified in “Multi-pin” Connectors IAW MIL-STD-20035A (SA) and be proficient NAVSEA Standards Items to include 009-22 & 009-73 is a plus. Work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation and the like and with equipment where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises, muscle strains, serious injury, or death.

Employees must be able to:
--Work in high heat spaces
--Climb shipyard dry dock stairs and climb up and down ladders and
--Crawl through hatches to access all areas of the ship
--Work in the kneeing position and layout of cable runs that are under false decking.
--Carry 50lbs. The employee can be lifting 25lbs to 50lbs 5 – 10% of the day, carrying 10 to 40lbs throughout the ship 25 to 50% of the day or pushing and pulling while running cable or installing equipment up to 80% of the day.
--Be on their feet in a standing, crouching or walking position up to 90% of the day

This work is physically demanding and is performed in an industrial environment with trip hazards and requires good mobility
Required Skills Requires a High School diploma and 2-4 years REQUIREMENTS
  • Position requires Position requires one of the following: Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Information Technology, Class A military school in electronics or communications, IT specialist title is US military, four (4) year electronics apprentice program, two (2) year contractor apprenticeship that included at least six months of formal classroom training that addressed electrical circuit theory, electromagnetic radiation, and other disciplines related to C4ISR installations. And four (4) years of practical experience working in DoD C4ISR installations with at least two (2) ears of experience working on US Navy or US Coast Guard shipboard C4ISR installations, to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout.
  • Applicants must be able to travel to various work sites such as San Diego, CA, Everett WA, Pearl Harbor HI, Mayport FL, Yokosuka Japan & Portsmouth New Hampshire -Applicants must have a DOD secret clearance or higher
  • Applicants must be available to work second or thirds shift as needed and able to work more than 40 hours per week
  • Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen

    DepartmentSerco’s C5ISR business unit supports all branches of the U.S. military as they look to extend the life of critical legacy weapons systems and sensors, while seamlessly integrating these systems with the latest C5I environments. We support major transformation initiatives to deliver total situational awareness from the command center to the warfighter on the front line.
