Job Description In support of the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) program in FEMA Zone 2, Serco is hiring staff for deployment to disaster areas in support of the Public Assistance Technical Assistance Contract. We have a wide range of positions available in Program Delivery Management, Site Inspection, Construction Management, and various science and environmental disciplines.

Employees must pass FEMA’s clearance program as well as job-specific training. Jobs are not permanent or guaranteed but will be available on-call as disasters occur, and each assignment location and duration will vary. Pay is a set hourly rate plus GSA-determined location per-diem. The majority of Serco’s positions will have no benefits (paid time off or insurance).

Preference will be given to existing FEMA-badged employees. FEMA experience is not mandatory. FEMA clearance and training will be provided to skilled individuals who have not previously supported FEMA deployments.


Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. May require an advance degree in engineering or equivalent and 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

DepartmentOur services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems. We also provide personnel services to military personnel, military families, and civilians working for the military.
