Job Description:
The Vice President, Business Development – Canada (Business Unit) will have overall responsibility for the Business Unit’s new business and re-compete sales pipeline, and will play a crucial role in developing and driving the business development strategy for the Canadian Business Unit overall.
The Vice President, Business Development – Canada will focus on the pursuit of large/complex opportunities consistent with the market segment focus of the Business Unit and Serco overall. The ideal candidate must have a strong business development background in managed services and solutions and proven success in developing business in the Provincial and Local Government marketplace, particularly in Ontario and Toronto. The candidate must have the ability to lead and support the pursuit of major bid activities, must be a team player who knows how to create and manage the synergy among business development, operations, capture management, and proposal functions.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Experience leading a Business Development Team.
• 10+ years of experience in business development selling managed services and solutions.
• Strong business development background in managed services and solutions and proven success in developing business in the Provincial and Local Government marketplace, particularly in Ontario and Toronto.
• Proven experience in developing and successfully executing sales/acquisition strategies for medium and large contracts ($25M - $250M).
• Experience delivering the full life cycle of business development activities, including market analysis, accounts planning, account management, opportunity identification and qualification, overall pipeline management, and the development and execution of win strategies.
• Successful legacy of meeting goals for consecutive years.
• Thorough understanding of the business development/sales lifecycle as it applies to large opportunities.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic business plans, account plans (Opportunity Management Plans), marketing plans and budgets, and developing and measuring performance objectives.
• Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to carry out daily interactions with technical leaders, business executives, customers, teammates/partners and subcontractors.
• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
